Olivia M. Hoffmann, 94, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at the Kingston Residence of Sylvania, Ohio. Olivia was born March 24, 1914, to William and Elizabeth (Schott) Hoffmann in Evansville, Indiana.
She graduated from Bosse High School in 1932 and The University of Evansville in 1959. She was employed by the Evansville Courier & Press and Citizens Insurance Company.
She was an active member of Bethel United Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school. She was an active member of the Insurance Women of Evansville where she held several offices and chaired several committees. She received the Roth award for outstanding achievement and loyalty to NAIW (National Association of Insurance Women) local chapter.
Olivia was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothea (Charles) Brockman.
She is survived by her nephew, Gary (Jennie) Brockman of Toledo, Ohio; great-nieces, Heather Brockman of Toledo, Ohio, and Amber (Iric) Bernal of Columbus, Ohio; great-nephew, Kevin Brockman of Sylvania, Ohio; great-great-nephews, Dakota, Garret and Jordan Brockman of Toledo, Ohio, and Iric and Julian Bernal of Columbus, Ohio.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2008, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Joseph Fraccaro, with entombment at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday, December 5, 2008, from 3 to 8 p.m.
