Dorothea A. (Hoffmann) Brockman


Dorothea A. (Hoffmann) Brockman, 91, passed away on Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, at the Kingston Residence of Sylvania, Ohio.

Dorothea was born July 2, 1915, to William and Elizabeth (Schott) Hoffmann in Evansville. She graduated from Bosse High School in 1933 and was married to Charles W. Brockman on May 12, 1938. They were married 58 years before he preceded her in death. She was an administrative assistant and bookkeeper for the Blackfoot Coal & Land Company of Evansville for many years prior to retiring. After retirement Dorothea and Charles moved to Clearwater, Fla.

She is survived by her sister, Olivia Hoffmann of Sylvania, Ohio; one son, Gary (Jennie) Brockman of Toledo, Ohio; granddaughters, Heather Brockman of Toledo, Ohio, and Amber (Iric) Bernal of Columbus, Ohio; grandson, Kevin Brockman of Sylvania, Ohio; great-grandsons, Dakota Garret and Jordan Brockman, both of Toledo, Ohio, and Iric and Julian Bernal of Columbus, Ohio.

Her remains will be interred in the mausoleum at Oak Hill Cemetery in Evansville.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio and Kingston Residence of Sylvania for the care and compassion shown to Dorothea and suggests any memorials be sent to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 800 Detroit Ave., Toledo, Ohio 43609.
