Marjorie (Mann) Crosley

Mrs. Marjorie (Mann) Crosley, 87, of Evansville , Indiana , died Friday, February 4, 2005 , at Good Samaritan Home.

She was active in Beta Sigma Phi since 1940, having served as Charter President of three degrees. She also served on the area Council for a number of years and was chosen "Sister of the Year" in 1981.

While living in Overland Park , Kansas , she served over 3,000 hours as a Red Cross volunteer at Menorah Memorial Medical Center .

She was a 1935 graduate of Bosse High School and had served on the reunion committee for several years. She also attended Lockyear Business College .

She was a descendant of the Heilman family, who were prominent in the political and industrial development of Evansville . She had been employed at Southern Indiana Gas and Electric Company and also was a federal auditor during the World War II at Republic Aviation Corporation.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ for over 65 years, having been a Sunday school teacher and active in the Young Peoples League.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar T. Crosley, on their 54th wedding anniversary, May 31, 1993 .

She is survived by one cousin, John Hulvershorn of Evansville; two nieces; and caretakers, Rita Kautzman, John and Eileen Hyde, Ms. Marion Hanson, Doane and Ruth Hage and Irma Rothert, all of Evansville.

Services will be held 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 , at Alexander East Chapel, with entombment in Locust Hill Mausoleum.

Friends may call Tuesday, from 11 a.m. until service time at Alexander East Chapel.
