Robert N. Berman


Robert N. Berman, D.D.S., 87, of Evansville, Indiana, died at 3:40 p.m., Friday, November 24, 2006, at his residence.

Dr. Robert N. Berman was born 1919 in Evansville, Indiana, to Isaac and Celia Berman. He graduated from Bosse High School in 1937 and received Bachelor of Science and D.D.S. degrees from Indiana University. During World War II he attained the rank of lieutenant commander as a dental officer in the U.S. Navy, serving in the South Pacific, Japan and China.

He practiced orthodontics in Evansville until his retirement in 1982. He was a life member of the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists and a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics. He was a member of the Evansville Rotary Club for 41 years.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rosanne "Susie" (Kahn) Berman of Evansville; his daughters, Cathy Berman Wirth and her husband, Milton, of San Diego, Calif., and Peggy Berman Starks and her husband, Charles, of Fort Myers, Fla.; and his grandson, David Wirth of San Diego, Calif.

Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2006, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, with Rabbi Barry Friedman officiating.

Friends may call Thursday 1:30 p.m. to service time November 30, 2006, at Boone Funeral Home, East Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Research, Pancreatic Cancer Research at Johns Hopkins, or VNA Hospice.
