Mildred “Mickey” (Pearcy) Schmitt

Mildred “Mickey” (Pearcy) Schmitt, 86, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at her residence.

 Mickey was a member of Zion's (Lippe) United Church of Christ in Mt. Vernon, Ind., for 44 years and was a 1937 graduate of Bosse High School.

She enjoyed sending cards to family, friends, and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Margret Pearcy; husband, John P. Schmitt in 1991; daughter, Janice Clark; two brothers and one sister.

Mickey is survived by her sons, Dennis Rutherford (Carol), Glenn Henderson (Sue), and John Schmitt (Rita), all of Evansville; sisters, Kathleen Edwards, Geneva Montgomery, and Joyce Perkins, all of Evansville, and Estle Norrick of Oakland City; eleven grandchildren, Randall and David Clark, Dani Cook, Ursula Matari, Jackie Rutherford; Amanda, Stacy, Alison, and Sam Henderson, Melanie and Shelley Schmitt; nine great-grandchildren; step daughters, Helen Jackson of Kentucky and Betty Alexander of Evansville; seven step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Reverend Kenneth Scherry, with entombment at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday, Jan.15, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m. until service time at Alexander West Chapel.
