Gene "Peach" Hudson


Gene "Peach" Hudson, 85, of Evansville, died Thursday, May 11, 2006, at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center.

Gene attended Bosse High School, graduating in 1938.

He was a U.S. veteran, serving in the 8th Air Force 96th Bomb Group during World War II, serving in England.

Gene had worked at Smith & Butterfield for 47 years as a Territory Representative. After his retirement, he worked at Oak Hill Pharmacy.

Gene was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ, Reed Masonic Lodge No. 316, Scottish Rite, and Hadi Temple. He was also a Kentucky Colonel.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Hudson; sisters, Bettye Stanick and Kathryn Huber.

Gene is survived by his wife of 60 years, Virginia "Ginny" Hudson; daughter, Susan K. Gordon and her husband, Greg; granddaughter, Abby Kristine Lee-Gordon; sister, Patti Kishline; brother, Thomas Hudson and his wife, Barbara; and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Newburgh Healthcare and Southern Care Hospice for all their care and kindness.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2006, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Dr. Joseph W. Fraccaro, with burial at Alexander Park Lawn. Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at Alexander East Chapel.
