Harold D. Vote

Harold D. Vote Sr., 85, died Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana.

He graduated from Bosse High School in 1938 and was a WWII U.S. Marine Veteran, discharged in 1946 as a Tech. Sgt.

Harold was a member of the Reed Masonic Lodge No. 316 for 50 years, the Scottish Rite for 50 years, and the Hadi Shrine Hospital Staff. He was an active member for 50 years and Elder of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He recently attended Morningside Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He retired from Ohio Valley Hardware in 1984 after 20 years of service. Harold was active in the Boy Scouts of America and served on the Council. He enjoyed meeting with the Thursday Morning Hardee's Boys.

Harold is survived by his wife of 63 years, Annabelle (Barclay) Vote of Evansville; sons, Harold Vote, Jr. and wife, Charlene of Evansville, Dr. Robert Vote and wife, Janice of Indianapolis, Ind., Scott Vote and wife, Darla of Newburgh, Ind.; daughter, Patricia Gill and husband, Louis of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Terri and Jim Ethington, Daniel and Holly Vote, Loren and Jason Whiteside, Ryan and Nadi Gill, Andrew Vote, Nicholas Vote; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jackson Whiteside; brother, Wm Llewell Vote of Indianapolis, Ind., and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2006, at Alexander East Chapel, with burial at Alexander Park Lawn. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2006, with a memorial service at 7 p.m. conducted by the Reed Masonic Lodge No. 316, at Alexander East Chapel.
