June D. (Moser) Oelklaus


June D. (Moser) Oelklaus, 79, 2130 Harrison, Quincy, formerly of 3429 South Glendale died Tuesday, July 17, 2001 at 6:05 am at the Good Samaritan Home.

She was born June 21, 1922 in Evansville, Indiana, the daughter of William and Jesse Crepps Moser. On February 20, 1943, she married Henry McClure Oelklaus in Corpus Christi, TX. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1994.

Mrs. Oelklaus was a graduate of Bosse High School in Evansville, Indiana in 1939. She was a secretary at the high school until her marriage. She came to Quincy in 1945 and was a member of 1st Union Congregational Church where she was a member of the ladies guild. She was an active volunteer at Blessing Hospital and was a member of the Blessing Women's Auxilliary. She was also a member of the Women's City Club and Spring Lake Country Club and the Elks.

Survivors include a two sons, Steven Oelklaus and his wife Dotty, Quincy; William H. Oelklaus and his wife Marie, Dodgeville, WI; six grandchildren, Julie Pearson and her husband Jeff, Flower Mound, TX; Rachel Oelklaus, Rock Island, IL; Melissa Oelklaus, Quincy; Jennifer Williamson and her husband Erik, Des Plaines, IL; Neil William Oelklaus, Green Bay, WI; Margery Kaphingst and her husband Jason, Kimberly, WI; two great grandsons, Jordan and Conner Pearson, Flower Mound, TX. She also was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Jack Moser.

Funeral Services will be held Friday July 20, 2001 at 2 PM in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev. Scott Snider officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Thursday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Burial is in Quincy Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association or the charity of the donor’s choice.
