Bernice (Scales) Brackett
Bernice

Bernice (Scales) Brackett, 90 years young, went into God's Kingdom, Monday, October 11, 2010, at home.

God looked around his garden and found an empty place. And then he looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering; he knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb. So he closed your weary eyelids, and whispered, "Peace be Thine." It broke our hearts to lose you. But you didn't go alone, for part of us went with you, the day God took you home.

Bernice has been reunited with her husband, Thomas Brackett; her parents, Leonard and Katherine Scales; and her brother, Ralph Scales.

She is survived by her son, Gary Brackett; grandchildren, Tracy Jones, Chris Brackett, and Kevin Brackett; great-grandchildren, Kacy Jones, Aaron Jones, and Evan Brackett.

She was a 1939 Bosse High School graduate and worked for Sunbeam and Servel during WWII as an inspector for machine gun bullets.

A private service for the family will be held 9 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 2010, at Oak Hill Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Vista Care Hospice, 323 Metro Ave, Evansville, Ind. 47715. The Brackett family greatly thanks all of the caring people who helped her at this life's end.

Arrangements are under the care of Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Meyer Chapel, 100 E Columbia St, Evansville, Ind. (812) 424-9288.

I have good memories of Mrs. Brackett. The countless times she drove Gary, myself and others to the movies, fishing, bowling, etc. she was always nice to me and i appreciated that.
