C. Glen Gore Jr.

C. Glen Gore Jr., age 85, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away at 3:32 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at St. Mary's Medical Center.

Glen was born December 26, 1922, in Warrick County, Indiana, to Charles Glen and Gladys (Parker) Gore. He graduated from Benjamin Bosse High School in 1941. Glen was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served during WWII with the 948th Engineers Aviation Topographical Company, serving in the American Theater and the Asiatic Pacific Theater. Glen retired from Keller Crescent. He held a private pilots license and was interested in photography and Jazz music. Glen was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1114, Lessing Masonic Lodge No. 464 and F.&A.M. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Glen was very family oriented especially close to many friends, especially those who walked with him at Eastland Mall.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Virginia (Vote) Gore of Evansville; brother-in-law, Clayton Hopkins of Columbia, N.C.; nieces and nephews, Steve Gore and his wife, Beth, of Evansville, Glen C. Gore and his wife, Angie, of Evansville, Arny Hopkins and his wife, Jo, of Columbia, N.C., and Lisa (Hopkins) Tilghman and her husband, Lynwood, of Kinston, N.C.; great-nieces and great-nephews; and cousins, Cora Jane Trautvetter (Meadows) of Boonville, Ind., and Cora Ross of Tulsa, Okla.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel L. (Thompson) Gore, in 1991, a brother, R. Jack Gore, in 1998, and a sister-in-law, Lucy (Thompson) Hopkins.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, with the Reverend Dr. George Huffsmith and the Reverend Posey Gaines officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today, May 9, 2008, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
