Mary M. (Phillips) Bandy

Mary M. (Phillips) Bandy, 83, of St. Louis, Mo., formerly of Evansville, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at Mary Queen of Mothers Nursing Home in St. Louis.

Mary was born in Newburgh, Indiana, October 14, 1922, and moved to Evansville with her mother, sister, and brothers in 1938.

She attended Bosse High School, graduating in 1941.

Mary was married to Estel C. Bandy, of Spurgen, Ind., on August 1, 1942.While her husband was serving in the Army during World War II, Mary worked for Servel. After the war, she returned to being a housewife and mother.

Mary was a founding member of Terrace Park General Baptist Church in Evansville.

Mary and her husband moved to St. Louis in 1959, when Chrysler moved its manufacturing facility.

She worked as an office manager with Cassen Transport in St. Louis for more than 20 years until her retirement.

Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crestwood in St. Louis.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Estel in 1985; and brother, Arthur Phillips.

Mary is survived by her sons, Rondal Bandy and wife, Kathy of Table Rock Lake, Mo., and Stephen Bandy and wife, Susan of St. Louis, Mo.; grandchildren, Rondal Bandy, Jr. of Lebanon, Mo., Elizabeth Bandy Runyon, Erin Bandy Hurley, and Brittany Bandy of St. Louis; great-grandchildren, Anna and Emily Bandy of Lebanon, Mo.; brother, Marvin Phillips and wife, Joann of Evansville; sister, Alvina DeWig of Evansville; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Phillips.

Services will be10 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2006, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Reverend Bob Kennedy and Reverend Glenn Spence, with burial at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Alexander East Chapel.
