Lois M. (Holder) Robinson, 86, of Evansville, passed away April 3, 2011 at The Pathways Unit of the Good Samaritan Home. Lois was born on September 21, 1924 in Evansville to William H. & Adah L. (Howland) Holder. She was a 1942 graduate of Bosse High School and a member of Christ Church U.C.C. She had been very active in the library for the church and always enjoyed the Children’s' Summer Reading Programs. Lois embraced her faith and loved to read the Bible every night. She loved being a homemaker, cooking, spending time with her family, watching I.U. basketball games and attending all of the sporting and school events of her children and grandchildren. She served as both a Cub Scout and Brownie leader and worked tirelessly in Dexter and Harrison PTA organizations. She enjoyed working in her yard and prided herself on it being well manicured. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Leroy Robinson, in 1987; her parents; sisters Selma Silke Riddle, Wilma Craig, and Maxine Kolb; and brothers Elwood Holder, Wyman Holder and Quentin Holder. Survivors include her son, Ronald L. Robinson (Marty Wilsbacher) of Cincinnati, OH; daughter, Carol A. Gladish (Bill) of Evansville; grandchildren R. Scott Robinson (Emily), Jennifer A. Brueshaber (Jim), both of Cincinnati, Amy J. Maurer (Zach) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Jill A. Gladish of Bowling Green, KY; great-grandchildren Kaitlyn and Tyler Robinson, Addison and Carter Brueshaber, and Abby Maurer. She also leaves two sisters, Ruth Baker and Joyce Hewitt, both of Evansville, sister-in-law, Waneda White of Akron, OH, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Avenue, from 3 to 8pm on Tuesday, April 5th, and the service is at 10am at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 6th. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family is grateful for the love and care given to Lois at Pathways (Alzheimer's Units) of the Good Samaritan Home and would request that any memorial contributions be made to them (601 N. Boeke Road, Evansville, IN 47711) or the National Alzheimer's Association. April 04, 2011 April 05, 2011 April 05, 2011 April 06, 2011 |
