James F. Mohr
     

James F. Mohr, 85 of Whiting, Indiana passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011 at St. Catherine Hospital, East Chicago.

James Mohr was born on November 24, 1925 in Lafayette, IN to Chester and Nora Irene (Martin) Mohr and was a resident of Whiting for the past 63 years. He was a [1942?] graduate of Evansville-Bosse High School and was a WWII Navy veteran. Jim was a member of the VFW Walter Kleiber Post 2724 and the American Legion, Whiting Post 80 who together will conduct memorial services at the funeral home on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. He was a retiree of Certified (Smith) Concrete of East Chicago with a service of 42 years and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 150 for over 55 years. He was also an associate member of the Whiting F.O.P. Lodge 68. Jim loved 'Big Band" music and was an avid John Wayne fan. He was devoted to his family and will be remembered for his colorful expressions.

He was the beloved husband of the late Dolores E. (Allen) Mohr, who passed away July 12, 2010; loving father of Jim (Ginny Daniels) Mohr of Las Vegas, NV, Cheryl (Montie) Graham of Beaver Dam, KY and Nancy (Bruce) Stolman of Whiting; cherished grandfather of Angie (Damon) Brown, Ashley (Michael) Edge, Cole Stolman, Kelly (Aaron) Morando, Christopher and Brynn Mohr; adoring great grandpa of Dalton, Jesse and Caden Brown, Isaac Johnson, Julia and Lily Morando; dearest brother of David (late Nadine) Mohr of California and the late Robert (Eileen) Mohr of New York; dear brother-in-law of Joan (Tom) Demkovich of Whiting; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting, Indiana. Cremation to follow. Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m.
