Richard Wiggers

Richard Wiggers, 81, of Evansville, passed away on Friday, January 13, at River Pointe Rehabilitation Center.

Richard retired from Southern Indiana Gas and Electric Company after 44 years of service. He served in the United States Army for two years during World War II as a Military Policeman transferring prisoners of war. He was a member of the Elberfeld American Legion 0351. He was also a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, confirmation class of 1938, and a charter member of St. John's East United Church of Christ. Richard was a 1943 graduate of Bosse High School, and enjoyed hiking and camping.

He is survived by his wife, Ellajean; a son, Andy Lee Wiggers of Florida; a brother, Floyd Wiggers of North Ridgeville, Ohio; two nieces; a nephew; and cousins.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, January 16, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 South Hebron Avenue, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Reverend Edward Carver officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 15.
