Patsy R. (Houston) Hoover

Patsy R. (Houston) Hoover, 78, of Evansville, Ind., died at 10:20 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at Columbia Health Care.

Patsy was born March 25, 1927, in Evansville, Ind., to Jewell and Alice (Bone) Houston.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in downtown Evansville. She graduated from Bosse High School in 1944. Patsy worked as a sales clerk at the Evansville Store, retiring in 1967.

Mrs. Hoover was a member and past worthy matron of Eastern Star Evansville Chapter 555, and a member of Daughters of the Nile and Kentucky Colonel. She was a member and past president of Welborn Hospital Pink Ladies.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ermon Hoover; one son, Michael E. Hoover and his wife Beverly of Bedford, NH; one daughter, Julia Phelps and her husband William of Evansville; two sisters, Phyllis Sallee of Evansville and Marilyn Hephner of Evansville; three grandchildren, Kirsten Sea Perry, Christopher Phelps and Amanda Jo Bennett; and four great-grandchildren, Olivia Mae Phelps, Zachary Phelps, Evan Perry and Nolette Perry.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at Boone Funeral Home ~ East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, Indiana, with Reverend John Branam officiating.

Entombment will be in Oak Hill Mausoleum.

Friends may call from 1 until 8 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2006, at Boone Funeral Home ~ East Chapel, where Eastern Star Evansville Chapter 555 will hold services at 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hadi Temple Transportation Fund.
