William "Bill" Richard Hufnagle, 82, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at Deaconess Hospital. He was born August 1, 1926, in Evansville.

Bill graduated from Bosse High School in 1944. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Pacific Theater of Operations for two years.

Bill attended Evansville College. He was a member of Jaycees and Northeast Park Baptist Church, where he was active in the Ready Class, usher, and other church committees. He worked with the Boy Scouts and Council in Paducah, Ky. Bill was an avid bowler for over 50-years and enjoyed traveling with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joy Finney Hufnagle; son, Kurt William Hufnagle of Frankfort, Ky.; daughter, Kathleen Hufnagle of Bristol, Wis,; and four grandchildren, Laura and Joe Hufnagle and Lisa and Alexey Hufnagle.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2008, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Dale Maddox and Rev. Steve Taylor, burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
