Helen G. (Morehead) Hopkins, 81, of Newburgh, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Golden Living Center Woodlands. She was born February 23, 1927 in Millport, Kentucky.
She graduated from Bosse High School in 1944 and married Charles J. Hopkins in September 1956. She worked for Indiana Bell Telephone Company and retired from Old National Bank in 1989 after 21 years of service.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Louise Hansen; and brother, Jerry Morehead.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Charles of Newburgh; daughter, Sandy Chilton and husband, Jim, of Newburgh; son, Craig S. Hopkins and wife, JoAnn, of Carmel, Indiana; grandchildren, Steve and Brian Chilton and Clay, Courtney and John Hopkins; and great-grandchildren, Tara, Whitney, Kyle and Hayden Chilton and Logan Greene.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel.
A memorial contribution may be made to a favorite charity of the donor's choice.
