Everett Ellsworth Rinehart Jr., 84, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Home. He was born January 24, 1925, in Evansville.

Everett was a graduate of Evansville Bosse High School (1944) and attended the Evansville Mechanic Arts High School program.

He served in the U.S. Navy aboard Destroyer Escort D E 790 and was a participant in the Normandy Invasion. He was a member of the VFW Post No. 1114.

He was employed at Servel, Dometic, Preway and Arkla manufacturing plants in Evansville for 41 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Evansville for 47 years. He belonged to the Arkla Retirement Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Ruth Flynn Rinehart; a sister, Mildred Crawford and her husband, Edward; and brothers, Alva Rinehart and his wife, Minnie Gertrude; and Cecil Rinehart and his wife, Emily.

Everett is survived by his wife of 60 years, Laura Kuester Rinehart; daughter, Ruth Rinehart Hudson and her husband, Michael, of Evansville; son, Dr. Darrel Rinehart and his wife, Yvonne Bolton Rinehart, of Columbia, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; two and one expected great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Services 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 100 E. Michigan Street, officiated by Rev. Walter Ullman, with burial in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Alexander East Chapel and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.

Aunt Laura & Family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of loss. We know that Uncle Jr. is now at home with the Lord and out of any pain or suffering.
