Ruth Ann (Roessler) Buente passed away on February 26, 2011, at the Visiting Nurse Plus Charlier Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
She was born September 26, 1926, to Emil and Frances (Bauer) Roessler in Evansville. Ruth graduated from Benjamin Bosse High School in 1944. She worked as a commercial artist at George Koch Sons until her marriage to Benjamin E. Buente, Jr. on August 27, 1949. Following her marriage, she did free-lance art work for Racenor Advertising, Burch Plow Works, and several other businesses. She also taught art for seven years to the upper grades at Redeemer Lutheran School. She became legal secretary for her husband's law practice for 30 years until their retirement. Ruth was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer and active in many charitable groups including Lutheran Women's Missionary League, the Legal Mrs., George Terrace Garden Club, and Valparaiso University Guild.
She enjoyed travelling and camping around the United States and Canada and spending time in St. Augustine, Fla., with her husband and three sons.
Ruth was preceded by her parents; sister, Doris Schaefnocker; and brother, William (Priscilla) Roessler.
She is survived by her husband; sister, Mary Frances 'Frankie' (Richard) Small of House Springs, Mo.; brother, Lloyd (Patricia) Roessler of McMurry, Pa; three sons, Steve (Tressa) Buente of St. Augustine, Fla., Michael (Charline) Buente of Evansville, Ind., and Tim Buente of Fort Branch, Ind.; her grandchildren, Brian (Natalie) Buente of Louisville Ky., Melissa (Scott) Powell of Portage, Mich., Joshua Buente of Evansville, Ind., Adam Buente of Muncie Ind., and Bryce Buente of Evansville, Ind.; and great-grandchildren, Marilyn and Benjamin Buente of Louisville Ky., Zoe and Zachary Powell of Portage, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer with Pastor Tom Wenig officiating. Burial will be held at Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 9 a.m. until service time on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.
Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue Evansville, IN 47711 is handling the arrangements.

I will cherish the memories I have of Aunt Ruth and the fun times we had as kids at the family picnics held in her back yard! My prayers are with Uncle Ben, my cousins and their families..
