Robert "Bob" J. Ryan


Robert "Bob" J. Ryan, 79, of Evansville, went to his heavenly home Thursday, May 25, 2006, at his residence.

His loving wife and children were with him at the time of his death.

Bob was a member of St. John's U.C.C. — Downtown. He graduated from Bosse High School in 1944. Bob was a World War II veteran, a lifelong member of V.F.W. and a Kentucky Colonel. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 40 years and was the past president of the Postal Credit Union.

He was an avid baseball and basketball fan and coached Little League Baseball.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Ruby Ryan; brothers, Clarence, Sidney, and Fred Ryan; and sister, Mildred.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary E. (LaMar) Ryan of Evansville; daughter, Rebecca Hibbs; son, Jack A. Ryan and wife, Roxann; son, Larry M. Ryan and wife, Ethelda; daughter, Robin Ryan Dassel; grandchildren, Keith Ryan and wife, Cindi, Todd Ryan and wife, Sabrina, Amie Martin and husband, Tony, Shelley Ryan, Jenny McBride and husband, Chris, Kellie Powell and husband, Tony, Erica Ryan, Julianne Hartsburg and husband, Rob, Jamie Hibbs, and Jessie Dassel; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Pamela, Jonathan, Ella, Patrick, Brennan, Liam, Quinn, Turner Robert, David, MacKenzie, Keagan, Alyssia, Jake, Trent, Maleah, Matalyn, Maribeth, Kyle, and Karsyn; brothers, Jack E. Ryan and John Ryan; sister, Rosemary Grzyb; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 12 noon, Saturday, May 27, 2006, at Alexander Memorial Park, Heritage Chapel, officiated by Reverend John Branam, with burial at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the cemetery chapel.
