Emilyann has always been a sweet, lovable person--a joy to be with. Her moods ranged from the very serious to laughable humorous. I was in Miss Poole's Latin class with her as sophomores. My name is Herb so Emilyann Latinized my name and called me "Herbus". A nickname I cherish. Emily was very intelligent, scholarly, wise and a great leader. We were wise to elect her as our class president, a post in which she served with distinction for over 65 years. Thank you Emilyann--we are lost without you. We love you. Herb Martin, Class of '45

Mr. Fowler, Cathy, Diane, Susan, Sarah and David, Bruce and I were deeply saddened by your loss. Your mother was such a good friend to Mom and Dad. Dad still talks about the trips the bridge club took to Memphis to see the museum exhibits. They commandeered 2 tables in the hotel lobby and played bridge until the wee hours of the night! Your family is so special to the Malaneys - you all were so open to us that first summer we lived in Evansville. We are praying for you all.

Mr. Fowler, Cathy and family, I'm so terribly sorry that you've lost your Emily/Mother. I know how difficult it is to lose someone so terribly important in your life. (I lost daddy in 1996 and mother in 2000.)
I remember when Cathy and I became friends in the 9th grade that your home was always such a wonderful place to visit. You were the ideal family. The younger sisters and brothers were all so cute. It was obvious there was sincere love and respect there on Lombard Ave. I know a huge part of this was due to Mrs. Fowler.
I remember going to church with you on Sundays. After church we would go by Grandmother's house (Mrs. Combs) and the love that Mrs. Fowler showed for her mother echoed through the Fowler children toward their grandmother.
You all have been truly blessed to have the love of this wonderful woman for so very many years. You know she is sitting, in heaven, with my mother and daddy and others, around a big round kitchen table, watching and laughing over us all.
Heaven is a little bit brighter now.
I love you all, Lee Ann (Bauman) Cash, Douglas, Georgia
