Jane (Kerr) Hartman

Jane (Kerr) Hartman, 77, died at 3:39 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, at Regency Place in Lafayette. She had been in failing health for the past six months.

She was born in Covington on Aug. 21, 1927, graduated from Bosse High School in Evansville and attended Purdue and Duke universities. She had lived in Lafayette for the past two years.

On July 26, 1958, she married Al G. Hartman. He died March 29, 1997.

She and her family owned and operated Kerr Implement Co., a John Deere dealership, in Mellott for many years. She retired in May after 25 years with the Community Action Program of Western Indiana, where she was a counselor/caseworker.

Mrs. Hartman had been active in the March of Dimes, Girl Scouts, the Republican party, Newtown Study Club and Monday Afternoon Club.

Surviving is a daughter, Lisa Karen Hartman of Lafayette.
