Marjorie J. (Ringham) Mayer, age77, of Evansville, Ind., died at 8:50 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2005, at the McCurdy Healthcare Center, after an 8-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. Margie was born in Evansville on August 30, 1927, and lived her life here. She graduated from Bosse High School in 1945. She was a talented seamstress, who enjoyed making clothing, quilts, stuffed toys and Christmas ornaments for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Sherrie Wilson of Kettering, Ohio, and Kathie Bowen and husband, Lee of Evansville; her son, Ron Mayer and wife, Dawn of Evansville; her sisters, Joyce Dunn of Naperville, Ill. her brother, Jim Ringham of Evansville; sister-in-law, Mary Mayer of Evansville; grandson, Kevin Wilson and wife, Lana of Kettering, Ohio; granddaughters, Kathie Garland and husband, Richard of Albion, Ill., Ashley Mayer of Evansville and Allison Mayer of Indianapolis; five great-grandchildren; six step grandchildren; sixteen step great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. The family wishes to give thanks to Margie's special caregivers at McCurdy Healthcare Center and Regina Continuing Care. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Johnie P. Mayer, in 2000; her parents, Clem and Lillian Ringham of Evansville; and her sister, Jean Holtman of Cincinnati, Ohio. Graveside services 1 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2005, at Park Lawn Cemetery for Margie's family and caregivers, with Elder Lee Bowen officiating. Boone Funeral Home, East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, Indiana is handling the arrangements. |
