Doris Jane (Schofield) Pierce

Doris Jane (Schofield) Pierce, 77, of Evansville , died Thursday, March 24, 2005 , at Deaconess Hospital . She was born May 3, 1927 , in Evansville , Indiana .

Doris graduated from Bosse High School in 1945. She was a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ, 6400 Oak Hill Road, Evansville, Ind. Doris retired from her position as administrative assistant of Old National Bank on March 11, 1983, after 24 years of service. She had previously worked for Permanent Savings and Loan and Midwest Federal Savings and Loan. She was past president of the local chapter of the National Secretary Association.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles H. Schofield, in 1975; mother, Jewel V. Schofield, in 1999; brother, Charles A. Schofield, in 1997; and brother, Norman E. Schofield, in 2003.

Doris is survived by her husband of 58 years, Kenneth R. Pierce of Evansville; daughter, Jane Ann Greenwood and husband, Mark of Granville, Ohio; son, K. Michael Pierce of Arlington, Texas; granddaughters, Lara Benschother and husband, Tom of Newark, Ohio, Marci Bennington and husband, Garth of Granville, Ohio, and Katelyn Pierce of Arlington, Texas; grandsons, Travis Pierce of Arlington, Texas, and Cameron Pierce of Arlington, Texas; great-granddaughters, Kendahl Benschother of Newark, Ohio, Reghan Benschother of Newark, Ohio, and Avery Bennington of Granville, Ohio; great-grandsons, Hunter Bennington of Newark, Ohio, and Sawyer Bennington of Granville, Ohio; and sister, Anne M. Dollars of Evansville.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Reverend Eric Stroshine, with burial in Bethlehem United Church of Christ Cemetery. Friends may call today, March 25, 2005 , from 4 to 8 p.m. at Alexander East Chapel.
