Donald R. Tyring, 83, of Evansville, Ind., passed away at 12:53 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2009, at St. Mary's Medical Center. Don was born April 20, 1926, in Evansville, to Norman and Delta (Albretch) Tyring. He was a 1946 graduate of Bosse High School and Bramwells Business College. Don was a life time member of Zion United Church of Christ. He had worked as a travel agent for AAA Travel Agency and in retirement, Don led many trips as a tour guide. He was a member of the Hadi Shrine, High 12 Club and a past president of the East Side Kiwanis Club. Don enjoyed playing golf and flower gardening, especially growing day lilies. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Ann. Don loved and was loved by all his many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, E. Ann (O'Daniel) Tyring of Evansville; two brothers, Gene Tyring and his wife, Carolyn, of Evansville and Bill Tyring and his wife, Laura, of New York, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Angela Holl, and a brother, Delbert Tyring. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2009, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, with the Reverend Robert B. Walker officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2009, at Boone Funeral Home, East Chapel.
