Harold E. Clark

 

Harold E. Clark, 79, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at his residence. He was born September 29, 1928, in McAlester, Oklahoma.

Harold was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, the church choir, and Salem Bell Tower Club. He was a past president of the Darmstadt McCutchanville Kiwanis Club. Harold was a precinct committeeman for Center Township. Following his heritage, he was a Choctaw Nation member.

He enjoyed camping at West Boggs Park, fishing, river barge cruises and singing, belonging to the Evansville College Choir and the Society for Preservation of Barbershop Quartets.

Harold was a graduate of Bosse High School [1947] and Evansville College [1951?] with a BS degree in Geology.
He served with the Indiana National Guard for 10 years.

Harold obtained his pilot’s license at the age of 25 and was a business partner with his father at Coy Aviation for 10 years and Clark and Clark Petroleum Producers from 1940-1960. He was a Real Estate Appraiser for the Indiana State Highway Commission for 27 years and was a member of the Indiana Appraiser's Association.

Harold is survived by his wife of 591/2 years, Shirley Clark; daughter, Teresa Ellis and her husband, Tom, of Bloomfield, Ind.; sons, Steve Clark and his wife, Sandra, of Bloomfield, Michael Clark and his wife, Estralita, of Coupeville, Wash., and Mark Clark and his wife, Brenda, of Evansville; sister, Ramona Laster of Reagan, Tenn.; grandson, Bruce Dayvolt of Evansville; step-grandsons, Scott Ellis of Detroit, Mich., and David Ellis of Helena, Mont.; granddaughters, Sarah Rizza of Austria and Tasha Hudson of Worthington, Ind.; grandson, Scott Clark of Bloomington, Ind.; granddaughter, Cassandra Clark of Marysville, Wash.; step-granddaughter, Rubi Ginapp of Oak Harbor, Wash.; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 8 nieces; and 1 nephew.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2008, at Salem United Methodist Church on Kratzville Road, officiated by the Rev. Randy Anderson, with burial at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit 4 to 8 p.m. today at Alexander North Chapel and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to service time at Salem UMC. The Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military services at the cemetery.
