June E. Suhrheinrich


June E. Suhrheinrich, 78, of Evansville, passed away Monday, December 17, 2007, at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born June 19, 1929, in Evansville.

June graduated from Bosse High School in 1947 and from the University of Evansville in 1951 with a B.S. in business. She later earned an M.B.A. from Indiana University.

June worked as a secretary at Servel and Bendix-Westinghouse. She then taught one year at Boonville High School and 20 years in the Business Department at Mount Vernon High School.

She was a church organist for about 30 years, playing full-time at Concordia Lutheran Church for seven years, part-time at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, where she was a life-long member, and as a substitute at various other churches in the area. In addition to playing the organ at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, she also sang in the choir, was active in its Senior Group, and worked as a volunteer in the church office. She was also active in several teaching associations.

June enjoyed traveling and traveled to all 50 states, many Canadian Provinces, six trips to European countries, a trip to Australia and New Zealand, and a cruise to the Western Caribbean. She enjoyed going to concerts, plays, playing Clabber and Bridge, and dancing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward H. and Pansy E. Suhrheinrich; and brother, Eugene E. Newman.

June is survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy E. Newman; and nephew, Ronald E. Newman.

Services were held Friday, December 21, 2007, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor Tom Wenig, with burial at Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday from 11 a.m. until service time at Alexander East Chapel.
