Thomas M. Swain


Thomas M. Swain, 78, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Friday, November 2, 2007, at his residence.

Thomas was born in Indianapolis to Irvin and Mable (Cassady) Swain. He was a graduate of [Benjamin Bosse High School, Class of 1947 and] Indiana University's School of Business and Law School. He was in the U. S. Army in the Counter-Intelligence Corp.

Thomas was an attorney and served as a Superior Court Judge for eight years, eight months.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, active in Boy Scouts and was a loyal IU football and basketball fan.

He is survived by wife, Marsha J. Swain of Evansville; daughter, Sara E. Creamer and her husband, Don, of Ohio; stepsons, Gregory Smith of Louisville, Ky., and Michael

Smith of Evansville; sister, Sara Sue Bolton of Evansville; and brother, Carl Swain and his wife, Nancy, of Evansville.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Mable (Cassady) Swain, and his brother in-law, Aaron Bolton.

A memorial service is planned for Monday, November 5, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Browning Funeral Home, with Rev. Allen Amstutz and Rev. Ashland Shaw officiating. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer, Ind., at a later date.

Friends may visit from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2007, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave.
