Lytle Edward Emerson


Lytle Edward Emerson, age 79, of Franklin, Indiana, and formerly of Evansville, Indiana, died at 3:10 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2008, at the Franklin United Methodist Community Home in Franklin, Indiana.

Mr. Emerson was a 1948 graduate of Bosse High School in Evansville, and prior to moving to the Franklin United Methodist Community, he was self-employed in the lawn care business. While living in Franklin, Indiana, he worked in a Sheltered Workshop prior to his retirement. Mr. Emerson was a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Evansville.

A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Mr. Emerson will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2008, at the Wright Memorial Chapel at the Franklin United Methodist Community Home with the Rev. Ted Murphy and the Rev. John Ely officiating. Inurnment will be conducted at a later date in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Evansville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin United Methodist Community or to the Shalom Community Center in Bloomington, Indiana.

Mr. Emerson was born in Evansville on August 14, 1928, the son of the late Lytle and Edith Polk Emerson.

Mr. Emerson is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Joe G. and Gloria Gaffney Emerson of Bloomington, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father and his stepmother, Ruth Pearce Emerson.
