Peggy A. (Nichols) Poetker, 75, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at Woodlands Convalescent Center. She was born July 18, 1932, in Evansville.

Peggy was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ. She was a graduate of the Bosse High School Class of 1950. She worked at the University of Evansville from 1971 to 2003. Her career began in the student housing department and she retired as the executive secretary to the vice president. Peggy was a U.E. basketball season ticket holder for many years.

In the last few years, Peggy has received loving support from extended family and an enormous network of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert A. Poetker, and son, Steven Poetker.

Peggy is survived by her son, David Poetker and Sheri of Melbourne, Fla.; son, Robert Poetker and Diana of Rochester, N.Y.; granddaughters, Rachel and Amanda; daughter-in-law, Sally Powers; brother, Ralph Nichols and Bonnie; nieces, Julie, Jodi and Jana; and many dear friends.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2007, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Dr. Joseph W. Fraccaro, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
