Rosalie Ester (Arend) Granderson, 77, of Lamar, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2009, at her home.

Rosalie was born in Evansville, Indiana, on July 18, 1932, to the late Phillip and Anna (Weber) Arend.

She graduated from Bosse High School [1951] and had worked for Koch & Son as well as Smith & Butterfield. She married Richard Granderson on May 6, 1960. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and the St. John's Women's Guild.

Rosalie enjoyed working outside and playing with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip; sisters, Valeria, Ruby, Ethyle and Gilberta.

Rosalie is survived by her husband of 49 years, Richard Granderson; children, Rick Granderson and his wife, Linda, of Evansville, Randy Granderson and his wife, Debbie, of Dale, Ind., Becky Murphy and her husband, Gary, of Chrisney, and Danny Granderson and his wife, Charity, of Lamar; 12 grandchildren, Richard J. Granderson, Beth A. Granderson, Alan M. Murphy, Katie L. Granderson, Zach M. Granderson, Hunter A. Granderson, Matthew B. Murphy, Talis E. James, Tesia P. Hay, Tristan M. Granderson, Teagan M. Granderson, Jonathon B. Murphy; and an extended family of nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law.

Services are 11 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2009, at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Ind., with the Rev. Lawrence Miller officiating. Burial is in St. John's United Church of Christ Cemetery in Lamar.

Visitation is from 2 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2009, and from 8 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ and the Visiting Nurse's Association.
