George J. Altheide, Jr., 74, of Evansville, Ind., passed away October 1, 2009, at his residence.

George was a graduate of Bosse High School [1953] and the University of Evansville. He retired from Underwriter's Adjusting Company and was a member of River Bend Association.
He is survived by his daughters, Pamela McCandless of Readyville, Tenn., and Christine Jones; and son, George J. Altheide, III, both of Evansville; grandchildren, Michael Miller, Jr., Gerald McCandless, Karley McCandless, Taylor Jones and Justin Altheide.

George is preceded in death by his parents, George and Evelyn Abshire Altheide.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2009, at Ziemer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 6300 N. First Avenue, Evansville, IN 47710.
