Louise A. (Bridges) Hunter


Louise A. (Bridges) Hunter, 67, of Evansville , died Wednesday September 29, 2004 , at St. Mary's Medical Center . Louise was a graduate of the Bosse High School Class of 1955. She then attended Indiana State University , Oakland City University , University of Evansville and Vincennes University .

Louise taught kindergarten at various Evansville elementary schools for 18 years.

She was a 50-year member of the Cumberland First Presbyterian Church in Evansville . She was currently a member of Chandler Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Honorary Teachers' Fraternity, Business and Professional Women's Club, N.E.A., I.S.T.A., E.T.A., Eastern Star Chapter 555, and the White Shrine of Evansville.

Louise also enjoyed a variety of craft-making hobbies, collecting dolls and music boxes, and baking.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Wade D. Hunter, in 1999, and parents, Walter and Ann Bridges.

Louise is survived by her son, Bradley W. Hunter of Chandler, Ind., and his friend, Joyce All; aunt, Lela Bridges of Evansville; cousin, Curran Bridges of Boonville; best friend, Patricia Andrew of Evansville; friends, Nick and Susan Welte and Albert "Abbie" Scales.

Services 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 2004 , at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Reverend Dan Gross. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery . Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. today, October 1, at Alexander East Chapel.
