William Clinton Marsh
 

William Clinton Marsh Sr., died October 1, 2006, at his home in Lantana, Florida .

Bill was born to A. Clinton and Ruth Esther (Blackman) Marsh in Decatur , Illinois , on September 22, 1937. The family returned to Evansville , Indiana , before WWII. He attended First Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he sang in the choir and was a Boy Scout in the troop that met at the church.

He went to Washington Elementary School and graduated from Benjamin Bosse High School Class of 1955, before joining the Air Force. While Bill was in the service, his parents visited him at Homestead Air Force Base in Florida and soon moved to Lantana, where they ran a Donut Shop.  His Indiana family visited frequently.

After discharge Bill resided in Lantana where he began doing yard work and landscaping, eventually serving the grounds of the National Enquirer and several Palm Beach residences where care of salt-water sensitive plantings was a specialty. He also loved fishing in the canals and waterways near Lantana as long as he was able.  He followed sports avidly on the TV.

Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fredrick and Hattie (Small) Marsh, of Spencer County , Reuben and Mary Jane (Key) Blackman, of Evansville , his aforementioned parents, and his sister, Elizabeth Jane Miller and her husband, Robert Wendall Miller, of Griffith , Indiana .

Survivors include his son, William Clinton Marsh Jr., and his only grandson, William Travis Marsh, Bill Jr.'s wife, Sandy, and her children, Samantha and Joshua, all of Lake Worth, Fla. Also surviving is his remaining sister, Marilou Marsh (Jack) Hoffar of Evansville; 3 nieces, Anne (Jim) Pondo of Plymouth, Ind., Cheryl (Tom) Hess of Lake Villa, Illinois, and Kittie Beth (Jeffrey) Brown of Noblesville, Ind.; and 4 nephews, Kirk (Laura Beth) Hoffar of Hudson, Florida, Keith Clinton (Melinda) Hoffar of Wolcottville, Ind., Don (Jacki) Miller of Seattle, Washington, and Lawrence Wendall (Karen) Miller, of Griffith, Ind.

Bill's funeral was October 17, 2006, at the Babione-Stephenson Funeral Home on Dixie Hwy. in Lantana, Fla., with an hour of visitation before the service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Wayne Padgett officiating. Burial was in Lake Worth Memorial Garden .
