Harold Gary Williams, age 68, of Newburgh, Ind., died at 9:35 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2006, at Select Specialty Hospital.
Gary was born February 25, 1938, in Evansville, Indiana, to Harold Otis and Helen Louise (Davis) Williams. He was a 1955 graduate of Bosse High School and a veteran of the United States Army. Gary was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.
Gary retired in 2000 from Whirlpool, where he worked as a brazier in the Refrigeration Department. He was a member of Reed Masonic Lodge, where he was a 32nd degree Mason. Gary's favorite hobby was working with stained glass. He also had his Real Estate License.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Jane (Hutchins); his son, Brian Williams of Newburgh; four cousins, Jerry Meyer, Virginia Meyer, Thomas K. Meyer and Jeannie Kuster; brother-in-law, Michael Shiery and his wife, Grace, of Michigan; and a nephew, Scott M. Shiery, his wife, Kim, and their daughters, Karyssa and Kelsey.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Kent Williams.
Private family services will be held in Rose Hill Cemetery in Newburgh, Indiana. Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, 5330 Washington Ave., Evansville, Indiana, is handling the arrangements.
