Kurt Newman

Kurt Newman, 68, of Evansville , died Friday, March 3, 2006, at River Pointe Vista Care Hospice.

Kurt was a [1956] graduate of Bosse High School and a devoted Kentucky Wildcats fan. He was a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union, retiring from the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation in 2003. He was a member of All Saints Anglican Church.

Kurt is survived by his sons, Mark Newman of New York and Tim Newman of Solana Beach , California ; grandsons, Matthew, Benjamin and Joshua Newman of St. Louis , Missouri ; sister, Martha Warner of Newburgh ; stepson, Jeff Benbenek of Newburgh ; and a friend, Joyce Schulte of Rockport , Indiana .

Kurt lived by his favorite quotation from Albert Schweitzer: "The purpose of human life is to serve and to show compassion and the will to help others."

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Deaconess Hospital and Vista Care.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2006, at All Saints Anglican Church, 1820 Stringtown Road , (812)-491-3248.
