Donna Kay (Stoner) Luckett, 71, of Newburgh, Ind., was called by the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009. Her passing was very sudden and unexpected while vacationing in Florida. Kay was born in Metropolis, Ill., and raised in Evansville. She graduated from Bosse High School in 1956, where she played clarinet in the Marching Band. Kay was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid horsewoman for many years, and her pony, Will-E-Bite won numerous classes at state horse shows across the Midwest. Kay was a past member of the English Horsemen's Society and manager of the River City Classic Horse Show several times. She was also a member of Tri Kappa Sorority and past president. Kay and her husband, David, belonged to the Evansville Kennel Club. She was a member of Vann Avenue Baptist Church. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, John and Thelma Stoner of Evansville, and a sister, Marie Pattison of Normal, Ill. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Dr. David W. Luckett of Newburgh; one daughter, Susan Harris (Stanley) of Louisville, Ky.; two sons, Steve Luckett of Evansville and David Luckett (Cristal) of Evansville; five grandchildren, Cameron Harris, Nicholas and Matthew Luckett, and Luke and Will Luckett; two sisters, Jane de Olazarra of Kendall, Fla., and Ann Plumback of Indianapolis; two brothers, the Reverend Richard Stoner of Benton, Ky., and Kenneth Stoner of Belleair Beach, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at Boone Funeral Home, East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, with the Reverend Robert Nall officiating. Burial will be private. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today, Oct. 27, 2009, and from 10 a.m. to service time at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at Boone Funeral Home, East Chapel.
