Carolyn Louise (Eberhart) Elpers, 68, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at St. Mary's Medical Center.
She was a 1961 graduate of Bosse High School and from St. Mary's School of Nursing. Carolyn was a nurse at St. Mary's Medical Center and retired 33 years ago as Dr. Ray Nicholson's nurse. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Carolyn loved NASCAR racing, following Kyle Busch and watching tennis. She also enjoyed gardening especially her ornamental and flowering plants.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Vera Eberhart.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 43 years, Larry Elpers; daughter, Kara Van Sickle and her husband Andrew of San Marcos, Calif.; brother, Ron Eberhart of Evansville; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N. First Ave., Evansville, IN 47710, with a memorial service at 5 p.m. Visitation will continue from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 918 W. Mill Rd., Evansville, IN 47710.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2011, at the Church with Fr. Paul Ferguson officiating.
Entombment will be at St. Joseph Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Masses or the Leukemia Society, 301 East Main St., Suite 100, Louisville, KY 40202.

On behalf of the Bosse High School Class of '61, our condolences to Carolyn's family. We enjoyed seeing her at all of the alumni luncheons the past 2 years, and looked forward to enjoying our 50th class reunion together. She will be missed, and will be remembered in our thoughts and prayers.

Larry & Kara, Barb and I are sorry to hear of the Passing of Carolyn. We will always remember her Big Smile at the Elpers Christmas gatherings. Barb is returning from her Florida Baby Sitting Nellie on Monday, so I will be picking her up at the Cincinnati Airport on Monday. I am sorry that we will not be able to attend Carolyn's funeral.

Larry and Kara, words cannot express our grief at Carolyn's passing. She was such a special person, she always remembered our birthdays and never missed a holiday. Her homemade jams were the best! We will miss her dearly.
