Joan "Jill" Elizabeth (Gilmore) McMullan, of Toledo, OH, died Thursday, April 1, 2010, at the Cleveland Clinic. Born in Minnesota, October 14, 1943, to John and Betty Gilmore, she was a teacher, an avid tennis player and a golfer. She was a loving mother to Jay, Greg and Jennie. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Clay; children, Jay and Kristine McMullan, Jennie and Scott Capehart; grandchildren, Erika, Bethany, Brooke, Greg, Ryan, Daniel and John; her mother, Betty James; her siblings, Margaret and Carl Hedlund, Debbie Stern and John and Connie Gilmore, and many nieces and nephews. Influenced by the deaths of her father and son to cancer, she was actively involved with the Victory Center of Toledo. She was also active with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Toledo and her church, Sylvania United Church of Christ, as well as many other organizations over her 66 years of life. She was an asset to every community she lived in and a good friend to all who knew her. A memorial service will be held at Sylvania United Church of Christ on Friday April 23, 2010 at 11 am. Memorial gifts can be donated to The Victory Center of Toledo or to Sylvania United Church of Christ. Arrangements entrusted to the Foth-Dorfmeyer Mortuary.
