Joe Cary Liggett, 61, of Falls Church , Va. , formerly of Evansville , died of a stroke on

Tuesday, February 15, 2005 , in Park Ridge , Ill.

He was the beloved father of Ann Marie (Bradley) Colehour and Kathleen Liggett; doting grandfather of Emma, Katherine and Torrin Colehour; dear brother of Jeanette (Charlie) Hook, Jacquelyn (Dennis) Van Mieghem and Jerry (Diana) Liggett; fond uncle of Wes (Mary) Schulz, Tim (Annette) Van Mieghem, Jill (Brian) Crist, Tyler (Jennifer) Van Mieghem, Caryn (Dan) O'Sullivan, Jennifer (Chad) Stultz and Andrew Needling; and cajoling great-uncle of 11 nieces and nephews.

Joe was born March 13, 1943 , in Evansville , Ind. , and graduated from Bosse High School in Evansville , Ind. , in 1961. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. State Department for 34 years.

A memorial gathering will be held Tuesday, Feb. 22, from 9:30 a.m. until memorial services at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church , 1624 E. Euclid Ave. , Mount Prospect , IL 60056 .

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church .
