Thomas Paul Niedermeier died in Charlotte, North Carolina, on October 22, 2005. He was born in Evansville, Ind., on May 14, 1943, to Carl and Margaret Niedermeier. He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Timothy; daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Dan Weckerle; brother, Carl Niedermeier; sister, Rosemary Oberhausen; many nieces and nephews; and his first expected grandchild. Tom grew up in Evansville, Indiana, where he attended Benjamin Bosse High School. He attended Indiana University and graduated from the University of Evansville. He received his DDS from Loyola University of Chicago. He married Linda in August of 1967. After finishing dental school, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served from 1971 to 1973. After his discharge, he and Linda moved to Deerfield, Illinois, and began practicing general dentistry. Two years later, with their two young children, they moved to Macomb, Illinois, where the family resided for the next 20 years. While in Macomb, he was extremely active in the Kiwanis Club and with Western Illinois University Athletics. While the children were in college, Tom and Linda moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, where they still reside. Tom and Linda have been active members of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Charlotte, where they have enjoyed singing in the choir. He was an avid Indiana Hoosier fan his entire life. Tom was loved and admired by everyone that knew him. He had a special way of touching people's hearts. His memorial service will be held on Monday, October 24, 2005, at 2 p.m. at St Mark's Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Mark's Lutheran Church music fund, 1001 Queens Road, Charlotte, NC 28207, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America, 5950 Fairview Road, Charlotte, NC 28210, or Presbyterian Hospital Foundation to benefit the Harris Hospice Unit, P.O.
