He was born in Mount Vernon , Illinois , on July 15, 1944 , and died Thursday, May 20, 2004 , at 10:30 p.m. at Deaconess Hospital .
Arrangements were handled by Alexander Funeral Home, the officiates were Father Ted Tempel, Father William J. King and Mother Matrona F. Davis.
Stan was an avid pool player and a long time member of the American Poolplayers Association. He was the Captain of teams that advanced to the National Team Championship in Las Vegas in 1999 and 2003. Stan loved the industry of Thoroughbred & NASCAR racing.
Stan served his country proudly from 1966 to 1972, and was an Honorably Discharged Veteran. Stan was stationed at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. Stan was a 1962 graduate of Bosse High School and received Honors from the University of Evansville College of Graduates and continuing studies. Stan earned an achievement award in the field of Approved Real Estate on December 12, 1985 . Stan was employed by CSX Railroad for 31 years.
His surviving family members are his wife, Julie Ann King; daughter, Shannon Hofman; daughter, Jada Koch; daughter, Cassie Jennifer Thomas; son, Brandon McCrarey; son Alex Glick; granddaughters, Sommer and Jessica; brother, Steve King; aunt, Mabel Jordan; mother and father-in-law, Marvin and Bonnie Lawson; son-in-law, Dan Hofman; and dear friend and colleague for many years, Diane Doss.
