Gary Wayne Dame

Gary Wayne Dame, age 63, of Evansville, passed away at 2:31 p.m., Monday, June 22, 2009, at Deaconess Gateway Heart Hospital.

Gary was born December 30, 1945, in Evansville, Indiana, to Allen H. and Connie M. (Clayton) Dame. He was a member of Barker Avenue Primitive Baptist Church. Gary was a 1963 graduate of Bosse High School and a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in Vietnam. He had worked as a floral designer for Kleitz Flower Shop, Guest House Floral Shop, Accent on Flowers and Elberfeld Gardens. Gary was a life member of the VFW #1114 and a member of Evansville Multiple Sclerosis Self Help Group.

He is survived by two sisters, Shirley Chambers of Evansville and Nellie Jo Masterson and her husband, Berlin, of Evansville; four brothers, Jim Dame, Sr. and his wife, Geraldine, of Evansville, Ron Dame and his wife, Nancy, of Evansville, Mike Dame and his wife, Rita, of Evansville and Keith Dame and his wife, Betty, of Evansville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Edward Dame and a brother-in-law, Bob Chambers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, with Major Harold Poff officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Boone Funeral Home, East Chapel.
