Jimmie Leroy Gish, 61, of San Francisco, Calif., formally of Evansville, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2007, at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in San Francisco. He was born June 18, 1945, in Evansville, to Theodore W. Sr. and Catherine L. (Haire) Gish, who preceded him in death. His brother Michael O. Gish also preceded him in death, December 23, 1996. Jimmie was of the Baptist faith, graduated from Bosse High School [in 1963] and entered the U.S. Army, where he received the National Defense Service Medal, was a Rifle Sharpshooter and received an honorable discharge in 1970. He later resided in San Francisco for 38 years. He was in management and accounting for 25 years at an entertainment theatre chain in San Francisco. Jimmie is survived by his sister, Joyce Peters and her husband, Chris of Penfield, Ill.; three brothers, Theodore W. Gish Jr. and his wife, Judy of Tallahassee, Fla., Jerry Gish of Evansville, and Bobby Gish and his wife, Elaine of Rockport, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews. Services for Jimmie will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2007, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St., Evansville, (812) 424-9274. The Rev. Joseph Easley will officiate. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 10 a.m. to service time Saturday, March 17, 2007, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St., Evansville. Gish Family, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I have fond memories of my time with Jimmie at Howard Rosa and playing in the neighborhood.
