On Behalf Of daniel f hewins Subject: Re: [bosse63] Jeri Shelton Garrison What sad news to start 2006: the death of Jeri Shelton Garrison. When we were first conscious of her...probably 5th or 6th grade at Dexter, she was the best personality, smartest and cutest one around. She was all smiles. There must have been something we didn't know about going on at her home. Mrs. Anderson (reading class) (in the room on the corner nearest Dexter and Powell) used to have a small basket with slips of paper which suggested topics for someone in the class to use as the start of a story. Most of us were afraid to pick one and create a story and tell it out loud. Jeri wasn't. However, her stories always seemed to end up having alcohol in the story line. Finally, Mrs. Anderson said something to her like "Well, if you have to talk about alcohol all the time, we'll just not do this anymore" I didn't like Mrs. Anderson so much after that. Jeri was very successful from all I've heard. Very, very sad to read of her death. Love to all and best wishes for 2006. Dan |
