Robert “Bob” “Fiberglass” Ellis Glass


Robert “Bob” “Fiberglass” Ellis Glass, 58, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2006, surrounded by family and friends.

Bob was a native of Evansville and attended Bosse High School [Class of 1966] and ISUE. He worked at Bacharach's, George Koch Sons, Folz City, Funky's, Good Time Bobby's and the Roca Bar. Bob loved working with wood and traveling; backpacking across Europe was his greatest adventure. Bob was a member of East Side Christian Church. During his life, he never met a stranger. He will be remembered for his passion for life, his giving nature and his skills in the horse shoe pit. “I lived a good life and loved every minute of it.”

He is survived by his son, Tae Glass, serving in Iraq; sisters, Candace Tomerlin and her husband, Daniel, Athens, Ala., Monzelle Carr, Evansville, Ind., and Kim Walker and her husband, Dave, Noblesville, Ind.; six nieces and nephews; six great-nieces and -nephews; longtime friends, Steve Barnett and Alan "Baby Pod" Williamson; longtime friend and caregiver, Gary Howell; and three beloved cats.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lemoine (King) Glass, and father Edward Glass.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2006, at his family's home, 1306 Marshall Ave., with Pastor Leslie McKown officiating. Bob's "Celebration of Life" will immediately follow, all are welcome to attend.
