Peggy Jo (Sauer) Tanner, 57, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in her home surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer.
Peggy was born June 16, 1950, in Evansville, Indiana, and attended Washington Grade School. She had an unsuccessful term at Ms. Georgia's Charm School. Peggy attended Bosse High School for three years and graduated from Harrison High School in 1968. She then went to Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana, and Indiana University in South Bend, Indiana, where she received her Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene in 1971. She started her practice with Dr. Wolf. Peggy practiced many years with Dr. William Standring and finished her career with Dr. Michael Dean. She retired in 2006.
Surviving are her husband of 33 years, Gary Tanner; son, Eric Tanner of Evansville; daughter, Robin Tanner of Indianapolis; mother, Juanita (Paulson) Sauer of Evansville; 2 sisters, Terri and her husband, Bob Walker, of Evansville and Patti and her husband, Greg Daugherty, of Newburgh; 2 grandchildren, Luke Tanner and Conor Tanner; and eight nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Deandra Jackson for the help and support, also, Anthony Stephens, MD and Mark Browning, MD and the family of Dr. Michael Dean for all their help and support. A special thanks to the nurses of Oncology Hematology Associates at St. Mary's, Deaconess Hospice and her special chemo buddies, Angie Sauer and Adrienne Adkison, her very special friend, John Steinhauer, and her favorite grand-dogs, Jackson and Gracie.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Sauer, and brother, Randy Sauer.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 E. Diamond Ave.
