Dennis Leroy Skinner

Dennis Leroy Skinner, 57, of Bedford, Ind., passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at his home. He was born August 26, 1951, in Evansville.

Dennis was a member at Eastside Christian Church in Evansville before transferring his membership to Ginghamsburg United Methodist Church in Tipp City, Ohio.

He graduated from Bosse High School in 1969, where he was in the marching band.

Dennis was an Army veteran who was stationed in Germany. He was also active in the Boy Scouts, earning the Eagle Scout ranking. Dennis participated in 2 medical mission trips to Bangladesh.

He enjoyed snow skiing, scuba diving, hunting, boating, painting, playing the guitar, and traveling. Dennis also participated in Civic and RPE Theater.

He was preceded in death by his father, H. LeRoy Skinner, and brother, Greg Skinner.

Dennis is survived by his daughter, Jennifer D. Skinner; son, Jeremy D. Skinner; mother, Trilla E. Skinner; brothers, D. Kent Skinner and wife, Marye Pat, and Timothy Skinner and wife, Michele; sister, Elaine Angermeier; 3 nephews; 3 nieces; and 1 great-nephew.

Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009, at Eastside Christian Church, 2001 Bayard Park Drive, officiated by Dr. Linda Parker, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit today from 2 to 7 p.m. at Alexander East Chapel and Monday from 10 a.m. to service time at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Eastside Christian Church. Arrangements by Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue.

My deepest and sincere condolences to the family. I have only the fondest memories of growing with Dennis, his father and brother Kent. God be with the family during these times.
