Sheila Maurice (Jackson) Cottrell


Sheila Maurice (Jackson) Cottrell, 49, of Evansville, departed this life to be with the Lord on February 15, 2006, at her residence after a sudden illness.

She was born and reared in Evansville, where she attended Benjamin Bosse High School, graduating in 1974.

Sheila had been employed at Casino Aztar for 10 years and enjoyed her job very much. She had previously worked at Deaconess Hospital.

She was an avid antique collector who rummaged for hours at local shops. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Her love for God was shown through her generosity, and love for others.

Sheila was preceded in death by her father, Theodore Jackson Sr., in 1990.

Sheila is survived by her mother, Millie Jackson of Evansville; two daughters, Amber and Armana Cottrell of Evansville; one son, Ontario Jackson of Evansville; one sister, Kathy (Josh) Case of Evansville; one brother, Theodore (Vickie) Jackson Jr. of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren, Malayja, Ahni, Amber, Angelo Jr., Mikayla, Terrell Jr., Ontario Jr. and Tyler; nieces, Mahogany, Kira, Kayla, Korie Jackson; nephews, Antwan Jackson and Theodore Jackson III; a loving companion, Charles Knowles; close friends, Sheila Duran and Kim Cheatem; aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of caring friends.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2006, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Reverend Adrian Brooks, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Alexander East Chapel.
