Brian Wayne Barnes, 36, of Evansville, Indiana went to be home with the Lord on Wednesday May 5, 2010.

He was employed by Hallmark and Simpsons IGA. Brian graduated from Bosse High School in 1992. The love of his life was playing softball. He helped coach and played softball at many games throughout the tri-state area. Brian was a member of Fares Avenue Baptist Church where he also assisted as song leader.

Brian is survived by his father and step mother, John and Marie Barnes, sister, Sherry Waters and her husband, Kevin of Mt. Vernon, IN, step sisters, Charity Embry of Evansville, IN, Dawn Worth of Smiths Grove, KY, step brothers, Richard Worth of Beaver Dam, KY, Scott Embry of Lexington, KY, maternal aunt, Linda Pugman and her husband, Josh of Canyon County, CA, paternal aunts, Phyllis McKinney and her husband, Jimmy, Joyce Burden and her husband, Ronnie all of Morgantown, KY, nieces, Misty Waters, Brooke McAtee and her husband, Daniel and nephew, Jacob Waters all of Mt. Vernon, IN, step nephews, Chris, Ethan and RJ Worth, John and Brandon Smith, step nieces, Savanna Vance, Brittney Worth, Nevaeh and Nevada Kirby.

Brian is preceded in death by his mother, Joan Davis Barnes, grandparents, Annie and John Davis, Elsie and Theodore Barnes and longtime companion Roland.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday May 8, 2010 at Browning Funeral Home 738 Diamond Ave. with Rev. James Johnson and Rev. Charles Green officiating. Burial will be held at Park Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday May 7, 2010 at Browning Funeral Home.

I went to school with Brian for most of my life and then in high school, we worked together at Simpsons. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.

Brian was not only a great neighbor but a true friend and a true Christian. He was excited about the new path his life was headed on but apparently God had something even greater in mind. We will surely miss you!
